Snowfall at Wangdue Phodrang

 Isn't if beautiful? To see how snowflakes have gathered outside of our house. The moment we step our foot, we could see many damsels, men, women and families playing in the snow.

When I opened my Facebook account, several stories are uploaded full of snow photos covered by Bhutanese. It's okay to snap photos during beautiful snowfall. Many of you might be wondering, why snowfall is liked by almost everyone? Is there any benefits of snowfall for the environment?

The answer is definitely yes, snowfall is excellent to the whole globe unless there is heavy snowfall because where there is snow, there is life. Moreover, snow contans nitrogen and sun energy which is stored in the soil because of this reason many Bumtaps (people of Bumthang district) become happy once the snow falls. Not only snow cools the temperature but also provides life to the plants.

Now those Bumtaps stories can be associated with people living in Wangdue Phodrang. I'm quite sure, people practicing agriculture are extremely happy since there wasn't heavy snowfall completely destroying the crops. Indeed, snow at Wangdue can maintain warm temperature as snow layer protects the soil which is beneath the snow.

 

Wangdue Phodrang

Most surprisingly, after few decades snow has finally arrived Wangdue district. Usually every winter, places such as Thimphu, Paro, Haa and districts with high altitude get snowfalls. However, today in a place like Wangdue Phodrang had snowfall and the cause is for having less carbon in the atmosphere meaning change in climate caused snowfall at Wangdue Phodrang.
